Forged Survivor DayZ Server Design Philosophy

Community members are encouraged to share feedback on server design and balance to yield the highest quality server possible. We believe in fostering genuine interactions in game through balancing vanilla DayZ mechanics.

Mechanics should enforce roleplay and reward roleplay behavior, but not impede casual gameplay. Major overhaul of mechanics or added content should enhance the game and promote both peace and rivalry among different player types.

Roleplay is not at the center of server design, but does weigh into design decisions.

Server Notes / Config

Production Server

Storage persistence: 10 days for underground stashes, 14 days for all above ground storage.

Raiding: No limit

Day/Night: 4.5 hour days/1.5 hour nights

Restarts: 12AM/6AM/12PM/6PM US-EST

Production Server IP: Offline

Production sever is currently offline while conducting a redesign of core infrastructure and gameplay mechanics.  Try the Forged Survivor Test Server, or join the Forged Survivor Discord if you have additional input for server design. 

 

Test Server

The Forged Survivor test server is utilized for development of the production server.  It may experience extended downtime for server changes, and unplanned server wipes, but represents the latest stable version of the planned production server.

We’re A Self Hosted DayZ Server

The Judgement DayZ server is North American based and runs on a dedicated machine running one server instance. Server performance is second only to game mechanic balance, and will be regularly evaluated with changes to player population, installed mods, and hardware provider quality. The Playground test server is hosted on multiple different machines depending on the current test phase.
