The Forged Survivor community offers a community developed PC DayZ SA server that is balanced for hardcore survival and multiple styles of gameplay. Hosted on a dedicated machine in North America.
Roleplay
Roleplay is not at the center of server design or community purpose, but it does enhance the DayZ experience, thus it is an important part of gameplay. There is no need to have a deeply rooted backstory to engage with players, or requirements to engage with other players at all. For those that do have an interesting story to tell, and character to bring to life, there are others looking to share that story with you.
Game Driven RP
The quality of roleplay is grounded in the game mechanics driving interaction, and a critical mass of community members engaging in rich roleplay. Engaging with players in varying ways and playing the part of a survivor should lead to greater in-game success (whatever that is to a specific player). Many players should find that thriving on the Forged Survivor DayZ server, and getting the most from the game, goes hand in hand with behaving like a true survivor.
Roleplay Guidelines
Because the server is open to any and all players, no roleplay rules are strictly enforced. Since a post apocalyptic environment is inherently dark and violent, it’s expected interactions and language would be too. In-game/in-character interactions need only to abide by the Server/Community rules. The absence of strict roleplay rules and rules of engagement gives opportunity for real chaos and unplanned survivor stories.
Lore
Lore and stories are completely player driven, and no lore is official except what players accept as official.
The Forged Survivor Mission
The mission of the Forged Survivor community is to share unique and unpredictable survival experiences in DayZ. This mission is accomplished through a community developed server, and holding players and members to high standards. At the founding of Forged Survivor, the aim of the server development team was to make the most of the mechanics already in vanilla DayZ, but balance them to account for a variety of play styles. In short, survival should be difficult but not impossible, and the bandits, heroes, business men, farmers, fisherman, roamers, hoarders, and tons of other objective roleplay players should find this server suitable.
